The Book of Ruth

Chapter 1

Intruduces us to Naomi and Ruth. All the men die at the begining of the chapter, but Ruth clings to Naomi and wants to journey with her. They return to Bethlehem

Chapter 2

Ruth gets to glean and gather sheaves of barley and also eats well. Boaz, a relative of Naomi does for her. She also brought out food for Naomi.

Chapter 3

Naomi tells Ruth to back to Boaz and lay at his feet after he has eaten and drunk. She does this and he says that he will find someone to lay with her, and if he can't, that he would. He then gave her some barley and sent her back to Ruth.

Chapter 4

Boaz now offers Naomi's land to the elders of the city. He said this also includes Ruth. They tell him to buy it, so he does and he takes Ruth for his wife. She bore him a son, Obed, who was the father of Jesse, the father of David.
